Research at the Biotechnology Center for Agriculture and the Environment is focused on plant, animal, and microbial systems. Our discoveries provide new knowledge for the development of improved life science products and a safer and healthier environment. Our faculty are actively involved in the undergraduate and graduate programs at Rutgers, and they mentor students carrying out independent research projects in their laboratories. The center's high-tech core facilities are available to colleagues within the university as well as outside. By sharing knowledge with corporate collaborators, the Center makes tangible contributions to New Jersey's economy in terms of new technologies, new jobs, and skilled workers.
